Where houses and gardens meet England, Italy and the fairy tale world
On the banks of Lake Siljan in Leksand lies Hildasholm, the doctor and author Axel Munthe's wedding gift to his wife Hilda. The house from 1910 is well preserved and surrounded by a fantastic Arts and Crafts centre with gardens in close interaction with nature.
During the summer season we offer guided tours, art exhibitions and events for the whole family. Stroll through the gardens, enjoy a coffee in our café and experience the wings of history in one of Dalarna's most fascinating environments.

Hildasholm opens for the season on 14 May. County Governor Helena Höij will give the opening speech at 11.00, followed by guided tours of the house. During the summer we also celebrate 150 years since
On 11 July, artist Maria Lindén invites you to a cyanotype workshop at Hildasholm. A creative moment with plants, sunlight and pictures in blue tones.
With inspiration from Hildasholm's gardens, Boråstapeter has created a new wallpaper. This summer, designer Noomi Spange will visit Hildasholm for a programme in the drawing-room.
In July, Hildasholm is inviting you to two afternoons of bibliotherapy. With poetry, conversation, and personal writing, we'll open up space for reflection, calm, and new thoughts.

Many of the gardens at Hildasholm are the work of Hilda. She created them with inspiration from the Arts & Crafts movement. In recent years, a kitchen garden and a medicinal garden have also been added.
During July, gardener Ingemar Blomqvist shows the garden every Tuesday and Thursday at 13.
