What a weekend that was.
For three days, the auditorium at Hildasholm was filled when the musical theatre Hilda was performed before an enthusiastic audience. All performances were sold out and together actors, musicians and puppeteers created an experience that touched many.
The performance took the audience through Hilda Pennington-Mellor Munthe's life, where history, music and theatre were woven together in the settings where the story once took place. The evenings began with bubbly in the garden before guests were invited into Hilda's birthday celebration and further into the drawing room.
Sofia Rönngård portrayed the older Hilda and Axel Munthe, while Hilda Stenshäll played the younger Hilda and several of the people in Hilda's surroundings. Together with Sofia Sandén, Johanna Dahl and Sara Fridholm, an atmospheric soundscape with music and song was created.
The Leksand Marionette and Puppet Theatre gave the performance an extra dimension through marionettes, puppets, flying butterflies and birds that brought the auditorium to life and enhanced the story.
We would like to extend a warm thank you to the entire cast, all participants, our volunteers in Hilda's Friends and above all to the audience who made the weekend an unforgettable memory.
We hope that Hilda's story lives on and that one day we may welcome her back to the salon at Hildasholm.
