BOOT offers folk music with a broad sonic spectrum, from delicate and beautiful to darkly driving, gnarled, and cantankerous polskas. With an instrumentation partly drawn from the Baroque period, one might expect something elegant and ornate, but here there is rather dirt under the fingernails.

Driving lute playing is combined with chasing violin and wilful percussion to create acoustic music with a weight that sometimes approaches rock. The group features Ola Bäckström on viola d’amore and mandola, Hållbus Totte Mattsson and Samuel ”Loop-Tok” Andersson on percussion and "slaglira" (a type of percussion instrument).
