July is one of the liveliest months of the year at Hildasholm. The garden is in its summer prime, the house is open for tours, and the programme is filled with creative workshops, lectures, music, theatre, and experiences for both young and old.
The month begins with Workshop: Create your own grass crown on 4 July, where florist Karin Stigsdotter will guide participants in creating with natural materials. The following day, 5 July, Hildasholm invites people to Bibliotherapy with a childhood theme – A quiet afternoon with poetry, conversation, and personal writing. Bibliotherapy also returns on July 12th, this time with Wisdom theme.
Week 28 returns too Children's Theatre Week to Hildasholm. From July 7th to 10th, the venue will be filled with performances and experiences for the whole family. Take the opportunity to combine the theatre with a walk in the garden, a visit to the café, or a family tour of the house.
Music lovers can look forward to BOOT at Hildasholm 9 July – a concert featuring heavy folk music, strong presence, and acoustic power. On 11 July, there will also be creativity in blue tones when the workshop Cyanotype – Create with Plants and Sunlight invites participants to create unique artworks using nature and the sun.
During the month, there will also be two lectures connected to the world and history of Hildasholm. On July 14th, Ostwald Au-Yeung will talk about Marionettes and child culture in the Munthe family, and on July 16th, designer Noomi Spange from Boråstapeter will visit Hildasholm for a lecture about Hildasholm Wallpaper, monster creation and the journey from idea to finished wallpaper.
July concludes with music, theatre and Hilda's own story. On July 30th, the premiere is for Hilda - musical theatre at Hildasholm, a playful and atmospheric performance about Hilda's life and world. The performance also plays on 31 July, with both a matinee and evening performance.
