Art at Hildasholm

Hildasholm was not only a summer home for Hilda Munthe and her two sons, but also a creative refuge where art flourished. Something that can still be seen today both in the house and in the garden rooms. Today, the creative heritage is preserved with annual exhibitions at Hildasholm.

Puppets

Discover the Munthe family’s collection of puppets.

Over the years, Hilda and the boys organized puppet shows, using an extensive set of around two hundred marionettes, stage and scenery, mostly created by themselves.

Puppets

Inside the house, the walls are adorned with an impressive collection of artwork and antiques, many of which were purchased by Axel Munthe during his travels around the world.

Go on a guided tour and take part in the many fantastic stories that have been passed down in the Munthe family.
